The St. Catherine High School started on September 6, 1948, in a classroom of the St. Catherine Elementary on White Church Street, in Spanish Town. This idea was established at a Catholic High School in Spanish Town and originated with Reverend Father Matthew Ashe S.J. and Sister Mary Mercedes R.S.M. Over the years, the school has grown tremendously. On September 28, 2023, the St. Catherine High School Family took time out to thank God for the Journey thus far. This Thanksgiving service began with a Mass that was led by The Most Rev. Kenneth Richards, Archbishop of Kingston Class of 76', Rev. Fr. Maria Lucas Gunalan, Parish Priest-St. Joseph Catholic Church and Deacon David Chambers, JP, Administrators - St. Helens & Mission, Linstead along with other special guests.
When the mass was over Students were allowed to get their lunches. During their Lunch Time, students had the opportunity to view and sign up for clubs that were on display in the Paschal Hall. Some of these clubs include the Student Council, Key Club, Cadet, Environment Club, Math Club, Honour Roll, Performing Arts, ISCF, Red Cross, Reading Club, Interact Club, 4H, Emerging Global Leader, and JPS Foundation.
After this was done students were able to enjoy themselves as they were engaged in a talent show where everyone could participate. This talent show included students and teachers Dancing, Singing and just having fun. This was held for approximately 1 ½ hours. At 2:15 p.m. students were asked to go to their form room where they were given a treat in the form of cupcakes as we celebrate St. Catherine High School's 75th Founder's Day.
